From what I'm decephering, it looks like no Italian Soccer for at least two weeks. I'll take this opportunity to update my crappy YTD totals:

Week totals: 29jan-04Feb W4 L5 T2 (-1.81 units)
YTD: W32 L31 T11 (+0.815 units)

W L T (+/-)
Coppa Italia 7-4-1 (+5.48)
Serie A 13-12-3 (+4.18)
Serie B 12-15-7 (-8.845)

A further break-down on unit distribution, since I have nothing better to do:

W-L-T (+/-)
9* 2-1-2 (0.18)
7.5* 1-2-1 (-4.425)
7* 1-0-0 (8.12)
6.5* 0-1-0 (-6.5)
6* 2-3-0 (-6.0)
5.5* 2-2-1 (-3.85)
5* 4-3-1 (7.25)
4.5* 8-5-1 (15.12)
4* 5-5-3 (0.72)
3.5* 4-7-2 (-12.74)
3* 3-2-0 (2.94)

Back in a couple of weeks (I guess?!)

Cheers, and good luck,

MA

Unsafe stadiums must hold closed door games

ROME, Feb 5 (Reuters) - Italian stadiums which do not meet safety regulations will have to hold matches behind closed doors without spectators, Interior Minister Guilano Amato said on Monday.

Luigi Scotti, undersecretary at the Justice Ministry, later told reporters only five stadiums currently met safety regulations.

All soccer matches in Italy were suspended indefinitely on Friday after a policeman was killed by rioting fans.

Amato said the block sale of tickets to away fans would also be stopped and police would be given the ability to make arrests without a warrant relating to soccer violence offences up to 48 hours after the crime.

He added the existing system of stadium bans for those found guilty of violence at matches would be beefed up to include under 18s.

The head of Italy's football federation, Luca Pancalli, who suspended all matches pending the approval of new safety measures, said he would consider the resumption of play after a cabinet meeting discusses the new regulations on Wednesday.

He said matches could technically resume this weekend.
